Sep 19, 2013 - German solar energy systems maker Centrosolar Group AG (ETR:C3O) said on Tuesday it has launched a new solar system planner for self-consumption which can measure the potential solar power yield and possible savings in electricity costs.
The solar system planner calculates how much electricity is needed for the home self consumption and how much can be fed into the grid. The programme takes into account the size of the household, the current electricity prices and the feed-in tariff under the Renewable Energy Act (EEG).
The tool also has the option for the homeowner to enter the desired self-consumption rate individually. In this case, the planner calculates the possible savings in electricity costs based on the solar power production and the respective energy consumption.
In addition, the solar system planner can determine the use of an energy storage system by automatically suggesting the quantity of electricity to be stored. This feature enables the consumers to use solar power even during the night and in days lacking of sunlight.
