German Baywa launches 60 MW solar plants in Nov

Dec 13, 2013 - The renewable energy unit of German agricultural cooperative Baywa (ETR:BYW6) said yesterday it brought online five solar power plants with a total capacity of 60 MW in November.

The unit, Baywa r.e., launched two plants in the UK, two in France and one in Germany last month. The plants can generate a total of 65 million kWh of electricity annually, the company added.

Baywa r.e. plans to further expand its operations abroad in 2014 and said it already has several projects in the pipeline. The company is seeking additional solar projects in order to expand its portfolio mainly in the US, Japan and south-east Asia, as well as in Germany, France and the UK.

Baywa r.e. was founded in 2009 and is responsible for the development of Baywa's renewable energy business through projects in the fields of solar energy, wind power, bioenergy and geothermal energy.
