(SeeNews) – Dec 22, 2011 - German asset-management company Altira AG (ETR:A7A) said on Tuesday its renewable energy unit had connected to the grid three solar parks with a total capacity of 81 MW, situated in the state of Brandenburg, Germany.
The three solar installations were connected to the grid in the months August through December.
All the projects have been sited on former military airports. The solar farm in the town of Werneuchen has a capacity of 19 MW, the one in Loennewitz of 22 MW and the facility in Fuerstenwalde of 40 MW.
The photovoltaic (PV) modules were supplied by Chinese companies JA Solar (NASDAQ:JASO), Suntech Power (NYSE:STP) and Trina Solar Ltd (NYSE:TSL), while the inverters were provided by German SMA Solar (ETR:S92).
