German Aleo Solar rolls out 1 GW of modules for 10 years
Oct 18, 2011 - German photovoltaic (PV) technology producer Aleo Solar (ETR:AS1) said today that the company has produced for 10 years modules of a combined 1 GW capacity, equal to the capacity of a nuclear power plant.
The total power is spread across around five million solar modules, the company said at the 10-year anniversary of its establishment. Aleo Solar was registered in the Commercial Register on 18 October 2001 and launched module production in July 2002. The annual production capacity gradually rose to 390 MW at the end of 2011.
The modules produced by Aleo Solar so far are able to supply a total of 285,000 three-person households with clean electricity and to offset 584,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions.
Aleo Solar has created more than 1,000 jobs at its three manufacturing facilities and nine sales offices worldwide.
