UPDATE - EDPR, Lhyfe to jointly work on green hydrogen projects
May 24, 2022 13:27 CESTJanuary 18 (Renewables Now) - Gen X Energy and a unit of AC Energy Corp plan to jointly develop a 1,100-MW combined cycle power plant project in the Philippines with the capability to use both natural gas and green hydrogen as its fuel.
Gen X Energy announced this on Monday, saying it has entered into a joint venture with ACE Enexor Inc to each hold a 50% interest in the Batangas Clean Energy project. The plant will be built in the Batangas Bay Area of the Philippines, close to the load centre of Metro Manila.
The purpose of the project is to provide firm power to the grid to cater to the growing energy demand in the country and cut its reliance on coal-fired power generation, the announcement says. It did not give further details about the green hydrogen component of the scheme.
