GE to ship storage solution to hybrid solar project in New York

April 19 (Renewables Now) - GE Renewable Energy will deliver two energy storage systems for а hybrid solar-plus-storage project that Helios Energy plans to build in Lenox, New York, the renewables unit of General Electric Company (NYSE:GE) said Monday.

The two parties have reached an agreement for a system of an undisclosed capacity that will utilise a direct DC coupled configuration with a single inverter and a single point of interconnection shared by the solar array and the batteries.

The Lenox solar/energy storage project will be installed in upstate New York at the end of 2019. It is slated to reach commercial operation in the second quarter of 2020.
