GE confirms USD-394m wind turbine supply order from Brazil Renova
Dec 4, 2012 - US engineering company General Electric (NYSE:GE) yesterday confirmed it had won a USD-394 million (EUR 301.8m) supply order for 230 wind turbines from Brazil's green energy developer Renova Energia (SAO:RNEW11).
Under the inked 10-year operating contract, GE will manage the equipment directly from its services center, GE said in a press release.
The GE 1.68-82.5 wind turbines will installed at Renova's Alto Sertao II wind farms complex, currently under construction in northeastern Bahia state.
According to GE, the complex will comprise a total 15 farms with a combined installed capacity of 386 MW, enough to supply energy to a city of 1 million inhabitants.
