Gamesa to deliver 128 MW turbines to Gestamp Wind in Brazil
Dec 5, 2013 - Spanish wind turbine maker Gamesa (MCE:GAM) has won a deal to supply turbines with a combined capacity of 128 MW to a wind farm complex in Brazil developed by Gestamp Wind.
Under the agreed terms, Gamesa will deliver next year 64 G97 wind turbines with a capacity of 2 MW each, with the facility expected to be commissioned at the end of 2014, the Spanish company said in a statement today without disclosing financial details.
Gamesa will be in charge of the foundations civil works of the complex, located in the state of Rio Grande do Norte, and will also maintain them for a period of 10 years.
Last week, Gamesa entered into another agreement to supply 10 MW of wind turbines to Gestamp Wind in Turkey. Gamesa will install five G90-2.0 MW turbines at the Adares wind farm in the province of Izmir.
Gamesa secured some 650 MW orders in the first nine months of the year in Brazil, which is among its priority markets in the short and medium term.
