Spanish wind power-focused company Gamesa (BME:GAM) said on Tuesday it has received a 14-MW turbine order from Elecnor (BME:ENO) for the second phase of the Maan wind project in Jordan.
Gamesa will supply seven of its G97-2.0 MW wind turbines for the expansion of the existing 66-MW wind park in southern Jordan that was commissioned two months ago. Deliveries are scheduled for late 2016, while commissioning is expected in the second quarter of 2017.
Elecnor is building the wind farm on a turnkey basis for the Jordan Ministry of Energy (MEMR). The existing facility consists of 33 units of Gamesa’s G97-2.0 MW wind turbines.
Gamesa quoted estimates by Make Consultancy according to which Jordan’s installed wind power capacity is set to exceed 1,300 MW by 2025.
