August 4 (Renewables Now) - US-based solar racking manufacturer GameChange Solar said on Wednesday it will be expanding its tracker tube manufacturing capacity at home to 14 GW from next year.

The Connecticut-based company is gearing up to start the operation of a 6-GW tracker tube line in February 2023. The automated facility will be located in the Midwest, GameChange Solar said without providing further details about the project, aimed at supporting the company’s US expansion.

"As our customers grow their business, GameChange is committed to continue to grow our substantial US manufacturing base to allow for fast deliveries and flexibility in our supply chain," said Derick Botha, Chief Commercial Officer at GameChange Solar.

The US firm’s website shows it has up to 30 GW of available production capacity for key systems, including 12 GW in the US. More than 21 GW of its solar racking systems have been sold so far to clients among which are First Solar, China’s Jinko Solar, Canadian Solar and Hanwha.
