GameChange Solar adds 4 GW of I‑beam capacity in US

US-based solar racking manufacturer GameChange Solar announced on Monday it has added more than 4 GW of dedicated I‑beam post manufacturing capacity so far in 2019.

The company said in a statement that it made the additions in the states of Louisiana, Michigan and Indiana. This allows it to make posts for both fixed tilt and tracker systems.

As a result, GameChange Solar now has over 10 GW of capacity for posts and 9 GW for tracker and fixed tilt systems in the US.

“Having USA capacity not only ensures rapid delivery of products to customers but also protects against the uncertainties and price fluctuations resulting from tariffs,” noted Derick Botha, chief commercial officer at GameChange Solar.

In June, the company said it had also added 6.4 GW of tracker and fixed tilt production capacity in China to pursue growth into international markets.
