September 15 (Renewables Now) - Boston-based Galehead Development announced on Tuesday that it has recently sold a 270-MW DC solar project in the MISO Central region of the US to independent power producer EDF Renewables (EDFR) for an undisclosed amount.

Galehead said that once the solar capacity is operational it will cater to the rising demand from MISO utilities for low-cost energy resources and growing renewable energy commitments by local corporations. EDFR will be in charge of all remaining downstream development scope through commercial operations.

This is the third such sale by Galehead to EDFR, the developer said, adding that it has so far delivered a 520 MW DC pipeline to EDFR in the MISO and PJM energy markets. All of these projects should be completed between 2023 and 2024.

“We are thrilled to build on our track record of successful project sales to EDF Renewables. We look forward to supporting their continued development of the projects and the addition of a half-gigawatt of new renewable resources to the grid by 2025 through this relationship,” said Galehead CEO Matt Marino.
