French Ministry of Ecology, Sustainable Development and Energy on Friday announced the 353 winning projects or a total of 80.2 MW from the third and last batch of its mid-sized solar power projects tender, launched in March 2015.
The selected projects range in capacity from 100 kWp to 250 kWp. Rooftop systems on agricultural buildings again dominated the tender with 179 projects of the total.
All projects will receive a feed-in tariff of EUR 131.25 (USD 143.89 ) per MWh, down by 3% compared to the previous batch.
The overall investment is estimated at EUR 132 million while the combined output of the solar power plants is projected at over 100 GWh of clean electricity per year.
The large majority of the winning projects have chosen to procure solar modules almost exclusive from European companies and almost half of these will be assembled in France.
All three batches of the tender launched last year will bring to life 1080 projects with a combined capacity of 240 MW and an annual output to the tune of 300 GWh.
The average power purchase price stands at EUR 135.5 per MWh, more than 16% less than the price achieved in the previous tender.
