Fortum to build EUR 200m CHP plant in Sweden

(ADPnews) - Sep 29, 2010 - Finnish energy company Fortum Oyj (HEL:FUM1V) said yesterday it plans to build a EUR 200 million (USD 271.8m) combined heat and power (CHP) plant in Brista, Sweden.

The plant, Brista 2, is scheduled to be completed in 2013. It will be based outside Stockholm and will be fuelled by municipal waste, among other things. The plant will burn some 240,000 tonnes of waste annually and will generate 57 MW heat and 20 MW electricity.

In addition, Fortum opened up the possibility for future co-ownership of Brista 2 with Sollentuna Energi, the energy company of the nearby Sollentuna municipality.
