Flemish solar panel investments are profitable without subsidies - report

Dec 4, 2012 - Robrecht Bothuyne, a member of the Flemish Parliament, has predicted a long ago that solar panels will become profitable without subsidies and a recent study confirmed he was right, daily De Standaard reported on Tuesday.

The cited study of Vlaams Energieagentschap showed that new sun power installations are profitable enough to allow the complete abandonment of state subsidies. Bothuyne welcomed the fact that the solar sector has reacted positively to the news, according to the report.
