Weekly renewables M&A round-up (Jun 27-Jul 1)
Jul 01, 2022 17:05 CESTJune 23 (Renewables Now) - US solar panels maker First Solar Inc (NASDAQ:FSLR) announced today that it has signed a framework agreement with Minneapolis-based developer National Grid Renewables for the supply of 2 GW DC of thin-film PV modules.
Its thin-film cadmium telluride modules will be used in projects throughout the US, with deliveries scheduled in 2024 and 2025, the manufacturer said. No other details were released.
First Solar highlighted its long-standing partnership with National Grid Renewables over the past decade. Among the recent projects are the operational 200-MW Prairie Wolf solar farm in Illinois and the 275-MW/125-MWh Noble Solar and Storage project, currently under construction in Texas.
National Grid Renewables, part of the ventures division of UK’s National Grid Plc (LON:NG), has a portfolio of 585 MW of solar projects in operation or under construction across the US.
