An affiliate of Koch Engineered Solutions (KES) has sealed a definitive engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) deal with Fidelis New Energy LLC for the primary renewable fuels processing facility of the Grön Fuels project in Louisiana.
Houston-based Fidelis New Energy is developing its flagship multi-billion-dollar Grön facility as part of a so-called Climate GigaSystem for carbon-negative renewable fuels production. The plant is designed to produce sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), renewable diesel, green hydrogen and renewable naphtha, while utilising Carbon Capture and Sequestration (CCS) and Carbon Negative Power (CNP).
The project is situated at the Port of Greater Baton Rouge, where it will have access to agricultural trade routes and traditional fuel production.
Fidelis says that the facility will be able to produce the equivalent of more than 1,000 MW of hydrogen through electrolysis.
Earlier this year, Babcock & Wilcox (NYSE:BW), or B&W, announced it will partner with Kiewit Industrial to deliver a 200-MW net-negative carbon impact biomass power plant for the project.
