East Energy, utility to use green H2 to decarbonise district heating in Brandenburg
Jul 01, 2022 15:43 CESTMarch 8 (Renewables Now) - Canada-based fuel cell-powered vehicle developer First Hydrogen Corp (CVE:FHYD) said on Tuesday that it has established First Hydrogen Energy, a specialised division focused on the production and distribution of green hydrogen.
The division is currently reviewing and processing new green hydrogen production projects in the UK, Italy and Canada. The parent company said discussions with local partners are ongoing, alongside talks with industrial partners for the supply of technology and plant management.
First Hydrogen has set its sights on Italy, Germany, the UK and Canada, with plans to develop and build “several 25-MW sites in each country”. The goal of the multi-country initiative is to provide potential future automotive customers with a guaranteed supply of green hydrogen over the lifetime of their vehicle ownership at a fixed price, the company said.
First Hydrogen is designing and developing a hydrogen-fuel-cell-powered light commercial demonstrator vehicle with a 500-kilometre-plus (310.7 miles) range under two agreements with Austria’s AVL Powertrain and Canada’s Ballard Power Systems Inc (NASDAQ:BLDP).
