January 9 (Renewables Now) - Danish renewables developer European Energy A/S and UK-based Armstrong Capital Management Limited on Wednesday announced a joint venture to fund the development of energy storage and solar projects in the UK with a total capacity exceeding 500 MW.

Finding a local partner is part of European Energy's efforts aimed at re-entering the UK market, in addition to the development of its own portfolio of wind and solar projects, the company's project director Thorvald Spanggaard said.

"In Armstrong we have found an established player with a strong pipeline of projects. We look forward to delivering hundreds of MWs of subsidy-free renewable energy projects in the UK with Armstrong in the coming years,” he noted.
