German energy major E.on SE (ETR:EOAN) has taken full ownership of Regensburg-based Mehr Ampere GmbH in a deal that expands its installation capacity for rooftop solar photovoltaic (PV) systems.
The acquisition of the 100% stake was carried out by E.on Energie Deutschland GmbH which has been a minority shareholder in the business since 2020.
Mehr Ampere installs, maintains and sells photovoltaic solutions in the state of Bavaria -- from its headquarters in Regensburg to Munich, Nuremberg and Passau.
The two companies have been already setting up together solar solutions on the roofs of their customers for several years and now they have taken the next step to further expand their solar operations, benefit more strongly from each other's expertise and continue to grow, said Frank Danielzik, in charge of E.on Deutschland's solar business. This would be also the goal of potential future acquisitions by E.on in this segment, Danielzik added.
The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
