September 10 (SeeNews) - Chinese wind turbine maker Envision Energy Ltd confirmed today it has received a 10.5-MW turbine order from polypropylene producer Petroquim for a wind farm in Chile.

Under the contract, the company will supply, transport and install five turbines of the EN110-2.1MW model at the La Esperanza wind farm in Negrete Municipality. Completion is expected by the end of March, 2016. Envision Energy will also be responsible for the operation and maintenance of the park.

Financial details on the order were not disclosed.

This contract marks Petroquim's entry into Chile's renewable energy segment. It expands the Chinese turbine supplier’s footprint in the country, for which Envision Energy has already drawn plans.

In July, Chile's environmental authority in the Biobio region issued a licence to Eolica La Esperanza SA, allowing it to build and operate the wind farm in Negrete.
