Nov 19, 2012 - Enphase Energy Inc's (NASDAQ:ENPH) microinverters have been selected for a 400-kW solar photovoltaic (PV) system at Wells Fargo Center for the Arts in California.
The US solar microinverter maker and commercial solar provider One Sun Inc today announced the start of construction of the solar facility.
The project, to be installed by One Sun, is estimated to generate 90% of the power needs of the community-owned non-profit organisation. It will feature 1,656 Enphase microinverters, while the Enphase Enlighten monitoring software will provide monitoring and reporting of the energy output.
The system will be mounted on four rows of carport structures and is expected to produce 567,000 kWh of electricity per year, allowing the centre to cut is carbon footprint by 333 tonnes and to save over USD 100,000 (EUR 78,000) on annual energy costs, according to the announcement.
Nelson Solar Projects LLC and Wells Fargo Center for the Arts announced plans for the 1,630-panel installation at the end of October. Under a 10-year power purchase agreement (PPA), Nelson Solar Projects is responsible for the provision of capital financing and installation of the system. The arts centre will become a full owner of the array at the end of the PPA.
