Renewables developer Enfinity Global Inc said today it has acquired a 250-MW solar photovoltaic (PV) portfolio in Japan with an enterprise value of about USD 1 billion (EUR 880m).
Specifically, Enfinity has bought three operational solar power plants totalling 70 MW and five projects that are currently under construction with a combined capacity of 180 MW. About 80 MW of the solar parks currently being built are expected to become operational this year, while the rest should enter into service in 2023.
The buyer noted that this transaction expands its Japanese platform to 281 MW. All of its assets benefit from the local feed-in-tariff (FiT) programme.
Asia-focused private investment manager PAG has taken part in the investment, while financial services group Nomura has acted as sole lead arranger and bookrunner for project financings, the announcement mentions.
