Enery wraps up acquisition of 81-MW renewables portfolio in Romania

Austrian renewables developer Enery has completed the acquisition of an 81-MW portfolio of renewable energy assets in Romania, boosting its green generation capacity in the Eastern European country to 273 MW.

The purchase of the Transeastern portfolio was agreed in September. The transaction includes the East Wind and Baia wind parks in Romania with a total capacity of 62 MW, the PowerLIVE and Corabia solar parks with a combined capacity of 16.6 MW and 2.5 MW of hydropower plants.

All facilities are operated under Romania's green certificate programme and were put into operation between 2011 and 2014.

The vendor is Canada-based renewable energy company Jade Power Trust (TSXV:JPWR.UN).

The deal with Jade Power further strengthens Enery's position in the Romanian market. In September, the Austrian developer acquired five solar parks with a combined capacity of 36 MWp located in the regions of the capital Bucharest and the cities of Arad and Cluj.

The acquisitions have boosted Enery's annual output in Romania to 375 GWh.
