Energy Conversion Devices names CEO

Nov 29, 2011 - US solar products company Energy Conversion Devices Inc (NASDAQ:ENER) yesterday said it had appointed Julian Hawkins as chief executive officer (CEO), president and member of its board of directors in effect from December 5.

Hawkins will focus mainly on the company's solar operations. He has more than 25 years of experience in sales and marketing. Before joining the company, Hawkins has been senior vice president, sales and marketing, of Abound Solar since 2008.

The company appointed its interim president since May, Jay Knoll, as executive vice president and chief restructuring officer and a member of the board of directors effective December 5. Knoll will focus mainly on the strategic alternative processes. Earlier, Knoll has been the company's executive vice president, general counsel and chief administrative officer.
