Energie AG Oberoesterreich inaugurates 1 MW solar facility
(ADPnews) - Sep 20, 2010 - Austrian energy provider Energie AG Oberoesterreich on Saturday officially inaugurated a 1 MW photovoltaic (PV) facility in Upper Austria.
The SolarCampus power plant has been operational since May 21, 2010 and has delivered 470,000 kWh in the first three months, much higher than the projected output, the company said. The expected annual output of the solar power plant amounts to 1,000 MWh.
The facility covers an area of 8,000 square metres (86,110 square feet) and is located in the Austrian "Solar Valley", as Upper Austria's energy councillor Rudi Anschober referred to the district of Wels-Land.
Energie AG focuses on providing energy from various sources such as photovoltaics, hydropower, biomass and thermal power.
