Enerfin to launch 20 MW new wind capacity in Brazil Rio Grande do Sul by month-end
Jun 7, 2012 - Enerfin, a wind power subsidiary of Spanish energy group Elecnor (MCE:ENO), will launch а further 20 MW of installed capacity in the municipality of Palmares do Sul, Rio Grande do Sul state, by the end of the month.
Thus, the company will achieve the 50 MW initially planned target for the municipality.
On Monday, Enerfin's president Guillermo Planas Roca reiterated the group's commitment to make new investments in Brazil.
In the next weeks the company will complete the installation of 50 MW in Osorio, again in Rio Grande do Sul. Added to the already installed 174 MW and the 78 MW which is under construction in Osorio, the installed wind energy capacity there will reach 303 MW.
At present, Enerfin do Brasil totals 422 MW of wind capacity in awarded projects in Rio Grande do Sul. The company is seen to invest BRL 1.4 billion (USD 688.7m/EUR 545.8m) in the projects.
