April 17 (Renewables Now) - Italian energy major Enel SpA (BIT:ENEL) is in a search for a financial partner willing to take an interest of up to 50% in its renewables business in Africa, Bloomberg reports, citing a company spokesperson.

The Enel representative has told the news agency that the company has been looking to create a joint venture there since before the COVID-19 outbreak and will continue despite the health crisis.

At present, Enel Green Power has projects in South Africa, Morocco and Zambia. It plans to add up to 3.6 GW of new capacity over the next two years, mainly in Africa and Asia, the spokesperson has added.
