Enel Green Power wins 88 MW wind power contracts in Brazil
Aug 29, 2013 - Italy's Enel Green Power (BIT:EGPW) has won three wind power supply contracts of a combined 88 MW in Brazil's northeastern Bahia state, the Italian group said on Thursday.
Enel Green Power (EGP) won the contracts in the 2013 Brazilian Reserve Auction for rights to 20-year energy supply contracts with the Brazilian Chamber of Commercialization of Electric Energy, Enel's (BIT:ENEL) renewable energy arm said in a statement.
The three projects, which will require USD 163 million (EUR 122.9m) in investments, will be capable of generating over 400 GWh annually. EGP is currently building 146 MW of wind capacity in the Bahia state.
The company's entire project portfolio in Brazil includes 313 MW of wind energy and another 93 MW of hydropower.
