Spanish utility Endesa SA (BME:ELE) has been granted a favourable environmental impact statement (EIS) for some 100 MW of solar projects in the autonomous community of Extremadura.
According to a note on Friday in the region’s official gazette, the assets are the 49.97-MWp Apicio and the 49.11-MW Nertobriga photovoltaic (PV) plants. The two projects are being developed by Endesa's subsidiaries Enel Green Power Espana (EGPE) SL and Baylio Solar SLU, respectively.
Located in the municipality of Fregenal de la Sierra, Badajoz province, these two PV schemes span around 241 hectares (595.5 acres) combined. Together, these solar facilities will use a total of 276,210 PV modules, with an individual capacity of 340 Wp for Apicio and 380 Wp for Nertobriga.
Earlier last week, Endesa also received a favourable EIS for the 48.4-MWp El Doblon solar PV project, which will be implemented in the same province but occupying two municipal districts.
