July 30 (Renewables Now) - Spanish utility Endesa SA (BME:ELE) has acquired a 900-MW portfolio of solar PV projects in Spain from compatriot Prodiel SL, a Seville-based renewables contractor and developer.

The transaction was announced in multiple media outlets in Spain and confirmed by Prodiel on its social media channels.

The portfolio contains eight projects in mature stages of development, with sites located across the regions of Castile-La Mancha and Madrid.

Endesa bought the portfolio via its renewables unit Enel Green Power Espana. The acquisition price was not reported by the media, but the reports state that the utility plans to invest about EUR 630 million (USD 748.4m) to get the solar farms up and running.

Construction of all eight projects is expected to commence in 2023, according to the reports.
