Enarsa, RusHydro to study tidal power in Argentina
Dec 9, 2013 - Argentine state-owned energy company Enarsa has signed an agreement with Russia's RusHydro JSC (MCX:HYDR) to study tidal power development in Argentina, the first company said on Friday.
At a meeting in Russia, managers of the companies discussed the possibility to start the explorations on the coasts of Santa Cruz and Chubut provinces, where tidal ranges are higher. RusHydro is expected to provide necessary turbines.
The agreement aims at diversifying Argentina's energy mix with clean technology, in addition to current wind and photovoltaic developments in the country.
