Eletrosul plans early launch of 78 MW wind complex
Dec 9, 2011 - Eletrosul, a subsidiary of Brazil's state-owned power holding company Eletrobras (SAO:ELET6), intends to launch one year earlier its 78 MW Santana do Livramento wind power complex, engineering director Ronaldo dos Santos Custodio said yesterday.
The complex will be put online on March 1, 2014, Custodio added. Later today, Custodia will sign a document with Argentine manufacturer of hydro and wind power turbines Industrias Metalurgicas Pescarmona (Impsa), Portuguese electronics and engineering company Efacec and Brazilian civil construction firm Iccila allowing them to start the plants' construction.
The complex comprises the 10 MW Cerro Chato IV, 12 MW Cerro Chato V, 24 MW Cerro Chato VI, 24 MW Ibirapuita and 8 MW Cerro dos Trindade in Santana do Livramento municipality, in southernmost Rio Grande do Sul.
