New Fortress Energy's green hydrogen plant is set to start production in the fourth quarter of 2024 and enter full commercial operation in 2025. The site and facility are scalable to 200 MW in the future.
The agreement between EH2 and New Fortress Energy hinges on customary terms and conditions, according to a statement published on Tuesday.
Founded in 2020, EH2 counts among its backers Equinor Ventures, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Rio Tinto and Energy Impact Partners. In June 2022, it raised USD 198 million (EUR 184.4m) to scale up its high-throughput technology and support the implementation of demonstration projects in North America and Europe.
