EiDF installs rooftop solar array for seafood producer in Spain
EiDF solar array in Spain
Spanish firm Energia, Innovacion y Desarrollo Fotovoltaico, or EiDF Solar, has completed the installation of a 5,377-square-metre (57,878 sq ft) solar photovoltaic (PV) array on a factory rooftop belonging to fishing company Pescanova SA (BME:PVA) in the port of Vigo, Spain.
Consisting of more than 2,700 solar modules, the PV system can generate 1,305.87-MWh per year and meet a portion of the seafood producer's power needs at the site, EiDF said on Tuesday.
The firm, which specialises in on-site PV systems, has so far installed over 3.7 MW of solar power in the port of Vigo area. Among its clients are the fishing and frozen food sector companies which, due to the energy intensity of their industrial processes and high electricity bills, are good candidates for on-site self-consumption solar, EiDF adds.
EiDF Solar claims that it has put into operation more than 2,000 solar energy systems, totalling a combined capacity of over 140 MW, for industrial clients in Spain.
