EIB invites hydrogen project promoters to seek funding

European Investment Bank

March 16 (Renewables Now) - The European Investment Bank (EIB) on Tuesday invited promoters of electrolyser manufacturing and electrolyser deployment projects to send project summaries and seek funding.

Promoters can use EIB’s template to provide basic information about their projects and submit completed forms by April 5, 2022, the EU lender said.

EIB will also hold sessions in late April/early May to allow promoters to present their projects in detail.

The banks said its teams will assess the information provided and select projects. Some projects may be eligible to receive support from the EIB Advisory board.

The bank’s invitation follows the European Commission’s announcement in which it expressed ambitions to raise the bloc’s hydrogen production targets and reduce its dependence on Russian gas. In this context, the European Clean Hydrogen Alliance launched a call for project promoters among its members to present their projects to the EIB, the EU bank said.
