September 30 (Renewables Now) - EDP Renovaveis SA (ELI:EDPR) has signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) for the output of a future 100-MW onshore wind farm in Mexico.

The PPA is denominated in US dollars and will run for a minimum 15 years, the renewables arm of Portuguese power utility EDP - Energias de Portugal SA (ELI:EDP) said Monday.

The name of the off-taker was not disclosed.

EDPR noted the new wind farm will be located in a strong wind resource region in Mexico where the expected load factor is above 40%. đ×perations are slated to start in 2021.

The Portuguese company said that, with this off-take arrangement, it had now secured PPAs for more than half of around 7 GW of targeted global capacity planned for installation in the 2019-2022 period.
