EDPR inks PPA with Royal DSM for 59 MW of Spanish renewables

Dutch life sciences and materials sciences company Koninklijke DSM NV (AMS:DSM) has procured electricity from 59 MW (76 MW DC) of renewable power plants that EDP Renovaveis SA (ELI:EDPR) intends to build in Spain in the following years.

EDPR said today that the power purchase agreement (PPA) with the multinational, also known as Royal DSM, will cover the output of one wind farm and two solar parks. The off-take deal was arranged by EDPR’s Spanish subsidiary.

The 16-MW Las Herrerias wind project will be constructed in Zaragoza province. The Acampo Arpal and the Senora de la Oliva solar projects in Zaragoza and Cadiz, respectively, will generate the remaining 43 MW. The Portuguese renewables company expects to install the solar capacity in 2022-2023.

With the latest purchase, EDPR has secured PPAs for 148 MW of renewables that will be installed in Spain between 2020 and 2023.
