Madrid-based renewables developer EDP Renovaveis SA (ELI:EDPR) said today that it has secured a 15-year contract-for-difference (CfD) for a 25-MW solar project in Hungary.
The award is associated with the Nyirseg project, whereas the CfD is valued at HUF 15.73 (USD 0.048/EUR 0.043) per MWh.
EDPR expects to break ground during 2022, and sees the commercial operation start in the fourth quarter of 2023.
With this award, the renewables arm of Energias de Portugal SA (ELI:EDP) now has a PV portfolio of 75 MW in Hungary. EDPR entered the market earlier this year with another 15-year CfD linked to a 50-MW project, the Portuguese power giant said.
EDPR and EDP Group CEO, Miguel Stilwell d’Andrade, noted that this move reinforces the company's ambition to continue to grow in this European region.
