EDPR bags 93 MW of wind PPAs in Brazilian energy auction

May 30 (Renewables Now) - EDP Renovaveis SA (ELI:EDPR) announced on Friday it has secured 93 MW of wind power in the A-4 energy tender in Brazil that was held on May 27, 2022.

The company has won two 15-year power purchase agreements (PPAs) for a new 124-MW wind project located in Paraiba state.

EDPR was awarded the PPAs with tariffs of BRL 179 (USD 37.6/EUR 35.1) per MWh. The contracted wind farm is set to start commercial operation in 2025.

With the latest wins, EDPR has secured 2.2 GW of total capacity in South America and a total of 9.8 GW for the 2021-2025 period, it noted.

In all, the Brazilian tender awarded some 947.9 MW of renewable power supply contracts, according to the Power Trading Chamber (CCEE).
