Portuguese electricity producer EDP - Energias de Portugal SA (ELI:EDP) announced today that it will acquire Polish distributed generation (DG) solar firm Zielona-Energia.com.
With this deal, EDP Energia Polska will add a business that has installed more than 58 MWp of DG solar arrays in Poland. Zielona-Energia.com's customer base is focused on small and medium businesses, such as schools, corporate offices, or agricultural spaces.
Earlier this year, EDP also acquired Warsaw-based sector player Soon Energy and has now contracted around 30 MWp with corporate clients since the start of 2022.
"Poland is a strategic country for this growth, where we were already developing wind projects and where, with this business segment, we intend to reach next year the mark of 100 MWp of contracted solar capacity for self-consumption," EDP's director Vera Pinto Pereira said.
