December 26 (Renewables Now) - EDP Energias do Brasil SA (B3:ENBR3) has completed the sale of 131.9 MW of small hydropower plants (HPPs) to a local unit of Norwegian state-owned utility Statkraft AS.

EDP sold EDP Pequenas Centrais Hidroeletricas SA (EDP PCH) and Santa Fe Energia SA for BRL 601 million (USD 154m/EUR 135.2m) to Statkraft Energias Renováveis SA, EDP announced on Friday.

EDP PCH owns seven small HPPs, while Santa Fe has one. According to a previous statement by EDP, these eight plants are operating under concessions ending between 2025 and 2030.

The sale of the hydro assets concludes a restructuring process for EDP Brasil under a 2016 strategic plan to divest non-core activities.
