February 26 (Renewables Now) - EDF Renewables has picked the bifacial photovoiltaic (PV) modules of solar energy company Trina Solar Co Ltd for two of its projects won in recent tenders in France.
Trina Solar will deliver a total of 44,790 low carbon footprint units of its DUOMAX modules for the 5 MWp Aramon and the 11 MWp Saint Pargoire PV power projects, the Chinese company said in a press release today.
Developed under the specific constraints of the CRE4.1 and CRE4.2 tenders, these are the first projects in France using low CO2 bifacial dual-glass modules, Trina Solar noted.
Deliveries of all 16 MWp modules are expected to be completed at the end of the first quarter of 2019.
Trina Solar's dual-glass technology features monocrystalline PERC cells and increases total power output through generation from the front and back side, with an additional energy gain of up to 25% depending on albedo and mounting, the company says.
