ecoSolargy gets USD 150m to back utility-scale solar projects
Dec 13, 2012 - US solar panel maker and solar solutions provider ecoSolargy said Wednesday it had obtained USD 150 million (EUR 115m) in equity financing to support utility-scale solar projects as part of its 2013 financing plan.
The financing was extended to the company's utility project development unit by private equity investors.
ecoSolargy will seek projects in all stages of the development both in the US and overseas, CEO Alan H Lee said. Currently, it is searching to fund utility-scale solar projects for 2013 which are in pre-development, development or construction stages as well as operating plants.
The company's utility project development segment was set up four years ago with the aim to acquire, develop and operate such solar projects.
