In the last days of October, Israeli power producer Econergy Renewable Energy Ltd has awarded engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) deals for a couple of solar projects in Romania with a combined capacity of more than 170 MW.
On October 30, the company announced it has contracted Shanghai Electric Group Co Ltd to build a 91-MW solar park in Parau, the Brasov region, Transylvania.
The following day, Econergy also unveiled a deal with the Chintec Group for the construction of an 81-MW project in Oradea, the region of Bihor.
Both solar power plants are expected to launch commercial operations in the third quarter of next year. At this point, Econergy is the two projects’ sole owner.
