January 27 (Renewables Now) - Israeli company Eco Wave Power Ltd on Monday said the hydraulic energy conversion unit for its Jaffa Port project at home has been assembled.

The electrical assembly phase, to be conducted by Siemens AG (ETR:SIE), has begun, the company added. Then, final wave simulation testing will be conducted and the unit will be transported to the final implementation site to be installed and connected to the grid.

The hydraulic conversion unit, as part of the company's wave energy technology, converts pressure from the waves into clean power.
The company has upgraded the hydraulic conversion unit for higher operation accuracy, according to the statement.

"The expansion of the Jaffa Port project, in collaboration with EDF Renewables IL and co-funding from the Israeli Energy Ministry, will significantly upgrade the EWP technology and reduce scaling risks in our commercial-scale projects," said Inna Braverman, Eco Wave Power's CEO.
