December 3 ( Renewables Now) - Ukrainian renewables company DTEK RES on Monday reported a 83.3% year-on-year increase in green power produced in the nine months to September to 874.8 GWh.

The strong performance was a result of the commissioning of two new solar and three new wind farms in the period. These include the 200-MW Nikopolska Solar Farm, the 200-MW Prymorska Wind Farm and the 240-MW Pokrovska Solar Farm.

Meanwhile, the company said it has completed the environmental assessment for its 565-MW Tylihulska Wind Farm project and the Ministry of Energy and Environmental Protection has expressed a positive opinion on it. The project is located in the Mykolaiv region and is expected to produce about 2,000 GWh a year, saving over 2 million tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions.

DTEK is also developing the Vasylkivska, Pavlohradska, Troyitska, Bandurovska and Shchaslyve solar farms and the Berdianska Wind Farm project, to be located in the Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhia regions. The new smaller projects are planned for 2020-2022.
