DTE Energy accepts applications for SolarCurrents scheme
Jun 25, 2013 - US diversified energy group DTE Energy (NYSE:DTE) said on Monday it would be accepting applications through July 23 for its SolarCurrents programme that is to add 2 MW of solar photovoltaic (PV) capacity by 2014.
As part of the scheme, the group targets customer-owned PV systems with capacities ranging from 1 kW to 20 kW in its service area. Projects are required to be completed by June 9, 2014.
The 2 MW of capacity will be divided in four 500-kW tranches this and next year. Now is the second offering of the programme with available capacity of 496 kW -- 373 kW for residential and 123 kW for commercial projects, DTE Energy noted. Should the number of applications in the second stage be higher than the available capacity, the company will make a random selection on August 7.
DTE Energy's SolarCurrents programme envisages the installation of PV systems with a total capacity of 15 MW on customer rooftops or property in southeast Michigan by 2015. The 2-MW target represents an expansion of the initial plan.
