DoE unveils USD-60m investment to advance CSP technologies
Oct 26, 2011 - The US Department of Energy (DoE) yesterday said it would invest USD 60 million (EUR 43m) in the development of innovative concentrating solar power (CSP) technologies.
The funding will be provided over three years to applied scientific research projects. The DoE said it expected to finance 20-22 projects and invited industry, universities and national laboratories to submit applications.
The investment is part of the department's SunShot initiative, which seeks to cut solar energy costs 75%, and is funded through its Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy.
