GreenPowerMonitor (GPM), part of Norwegian assurance and risk management expert DNV, has signed an agreement to perform monitoring for over 850 MW of solar PV plants operated by EF Solare Italia, it was announced on Tuesday.
The capacity represents the entire portfolio that the Italian solar PV operator has in its home country. According to Tuesday’s joint statement, the agreement means that GPM will manage over 300 solar farms located across 17 regions of Italy.
Maintenance-focused GPM won the job on the back of its monitoring data-driven solutions -- GPM Horizon, a web-based real-time monitoring and management platform, and GPM Plus, a real-time monitoring and management programme.
“EF Solare, as the first photovoltaic operator in Italy and among the main ones in Europe, is focused on applying the best technological solutions to its plants. This also passes through an integrated and reliable monitoring of its assets to ensure high standards of efficiency in production,” said Andrea Ghiselli, CEO of EF Solare.
As of September 2021, GPM’s global portfolio has surpassed 46 GW, capacity that includes wind, solar and energy storage, according to the press release.
